Abstract

The article discusses the iconic Fender Stratocaster guitar known as "Blackie" that was played by Eric Clapton throughout his career. Blackie made its debut in 1973 and remained Clapton's main guitar for the next 12 years. It appeared on the cover of several of Clapton's albums and was used in numerous performances and recordings. Clapton assembled Blackie using parts from different guitars, and it became a symbol of his musical style. In 2004, Blackie was sold at auction for nearly a million dollars, with the proceeds going to a treatment and rehabilitation clinic founded by Clapton. The guitar continues to be celebrated and has been reproduced by Fender. [Extracted from the article]
