Abstract
The article examines the transnational and local dynamics of anti-genderism, focusing on its articulation through the empty signifier of "the nation" and the strategic use of new media in Poland, Brazil, and the United States. It highlights how anti-genderism conflates conservative gender discourses with nationalist defense, portraying non-normative gender identities as existential threats to the patriarchal, heteronormative family, which is framed as the foundation of the nation. The discussion emphasizes the role of new media platforms in amplifying conspiratorial narratives and enabling far-right actors to construct and mobilize images of internal and external enemies, thereby sustaining anti-gender movements as resilient political forces. The article also explores specific national contexts, illustrating how anti-genderism intersects with religious, racial, and political factors, and how digital communication shapes these ideological battles.
