Abstract

The article discusses various photographers and their work featured in Provincetown Arts. Amy Arbus talks about her experience photographing dancers at the Joyce Theater in New York City and the challenges of capturing the action in low lighting. Jack Pierson, part of the Boston School of photographers, discusses his work and his photo of artist Billy Hough. Mischa Richter, an editorial photographer, shares his experience of using a mobile camera obscura to capture images in Provincetown. Lyle Ashton Harris reflects on his photography project and the symbolism of his images. Marian Roth discusses her unique method of using a van camera to create photographs. Jane Paradise shares her series of photos documenting her husband's experience with Alzheimer's. Kahn & Selesnick discuss their photographic fable, Truppe Fledermaus. Paula Horn Kotis talks about her photography career and her collaborations with James Baldwin and Frank O'Hara. Vincent Guadazno's photo of the Whaler's Wharf fire in Provincetown is also featured.
