Abstract
This article focuses on the importance of documenting contemporary histories in art education through a graduate course that combines art education history with educational philosophy. Students conducted original research by interviewing living art educators, resulting in six biographical studies that highlight diverse contributions to the field. The course emphasizes understanding competing educational philosophies and encourages self-reflection on teaching beliefs to empower art educators in advocacy and practice. The project underscores the value of preserving current narratives to enrich the ongoing history of art education.
