Abstract
The article highlights the prominent art exhibitions scheduled in Madrid for 2026, focusing on various painting showcases. Currently, the Museo del Prado features an exhibition of German Neoclassical artist Anton Raphael Mengs, while CaixaForum presents works by Henri Matisse on loan from the Centre Pompidou. Upcoming exhibitions include a survey of 19th-century Scandinavian painter Vilhelm Hammershoi and Swedish portraitist Anders Zorn, as well as showcases honoring lesser-known women artists like Maruja Mallo and Aurelia Munoz. Additionally, La Casa Encendida is hosting "Inquietude: Liberty and Democracy," which commemorates the 50th anniversary of Francisco Franco's death through the works of over 50 artists.
