Abstract

This article focuses on a study conducted at Assumption University in Bangkok, Thailand, examining the integration of Gestalt Therapeutic Techniques (GTT) with the traditional Stanislavski system in undergraduate acting training. The 16-week quasi-experiment involving 71 students found that combining GTT with Stanislavski-based methods significantly improved character portrayal proficiency in four dimensions, including character analysis and relational dynamics, while stage presence remained unaffected. Qualitative analysis indicated that GTT enhanced emotional authenticity and relational engagement, suggesting pedagogical benefits alongside implementation challenges. The study concludes that systematic integration of GTT can enrich traditional acting pedagogy by strengthening psychological and relational aspects of performance. [Extracted from the article]
