Abstract

This article focuses on Camila Mendes's evolving acting career following her breakout role as Veronica Lodge on the CW series Riverdale (2017–2023). Mendes has expanded her filmography with roles in projects such as the Hulu rom-com Palm Springs, Netflix's teen dark comedy Do Revenge, and Prime Video's Upgraded and Música, the latter celebrating Brazilian culture. While not limiting herself to Latina characters, Mendes strives to incorporate elements of Latinidad into her roles to enhance authenticity and representation. She acknowledges the challenges of portraying confident characters and emphasizes the importance of staying true to herself in her performances.
