Abstract

REGULARS25 March 1969After marrying in Gibraltar on 20 March, Beatles star John Lennon and his new wife, artist Yoko Ono, spent their honeymoon in Amsterdam. They used the publicity from their marriage to draw attention to their ongoing protests against the Vietnam War. Lennon and Ono invited the press to document their weeklong 'bed-in' in their hotel room, where the couple remained in bed to promote world peace. They staged a second 'bed-in' in Montreal in May and also recorded the anti-war song Give Peace a Chance from their hotel room. [Extracted from the article]
