Abstract
CRAFTING THE LACE Bobbin lace is done by weaving (or plaiting) threads together to create the patterns desired. They can be found in early examples of bobbin lace, which also developed around the same time as needle lace. Hundreds of patterns for figural filet lace exist as this technique lends itself to the pictorial. Filet lace is done on a grid of hand-knotted netting that is created using the same time-honored technique as fishing nets. [Extracted from the article]
