Abstract

Italian fashion house Valentino has appointed former Gucci designer Alessandro Michele as its new creative director. Michele, who oversaw Gucci's creations for eight years, will replace Pierpaolo Piccioli and begin his new role on April 2. The appointment comes as a surprise, as Gucci owner Kering SA parted ways with Michele due to lower sales compared to its competitors. Valentino was acquired by Mayhoola over a decade ago and reported revenue of €1.4 billion in 2022. [Extracted from the article]
