Abstract
BESIDES EARTH, probably the most important planet in Star Trek is Vulcan, homeworld of Mr. Spock. In Star Trek, the name Deneb is used to refer to the "true" Deneb (Alpha Cygni) and also as shorthand for Deneb Kaitos, which is another name for the star Diphda in the constellation Cetus the Whale.
