Abstract

In this OPC I discuss "research as done" and "research as reported" in relation to my own personal experience and in view of the philosophy of science. While designers strive to conduct their research more scientifically, scientists appear well aware of the importance of intuition and chance for their research processes. I discuss the question of how we might change teaching and design education in order to prepare our students for more designerly ways of conducting research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
