Abstract

The article focuses on Martina Simeti’s gallery in Milan, which balances the city’s postwar avant-garde artistic heritage with contemporary art practices. Simeti, daughter of artist Turi Simeti—a key figure in Italy’s ZERO movement—operates her gallery from her late father’s former home and studio, integrating his archive into the space. Since its start in 2018 as a mobile project, the gallery has developed a program centered on three-dimensional and object-based art, emphasizing elegance and detailed craftsmanship, and fostering a close-knit community of international artists. The new gallery space, designed to encourage conviviality beyond traditional exhibitions, aims to revitalize both gallery activities and archival research. [Extracted from the article]
