The article explores the significant role of animals in fairy tales and their prominent presence in British pantomimes, a popular theatrical form. Topics include the historical and cultural significance of pantomimes in the UK, the evolution of pantomime from commedia dell'arte to contemporary performances, and the continuing use of traditional fairy-tale narratives in modern pantomimes, particularly during the holiday season.
