Abstract

The article explores the ancient Polynesian art of wayfinding, a technique used by Moana's people to navigate the vast Pacific Ocean without modern equipment. Polynesia, a collection of over 1,000 islands, was settled by Polynesian navigators over 3,000 years ago using this sacred art. Despite initial skepticism from European explorers, the Polynesian Voyaging Society successfully recreated a traditional voyage using wayfinding techniques, demonstrating the effectiveness of this ancient practice. Today, Polynesian groups continue to teach and practice wayfinding, emphasizing its cultural significance and connection to nature. [Extracted from the article]
