Abstract

The article focuses on the November 2023 oppositions of Jupiter and Uranus, highlighting optimal viewing conditions for both planets. Jupiter reaches opposition on November 2–3 in Aries, shining at magnitude –2.9 with a visible disk of 49.5″, allowing observers with small telescopes or binoculars to see its cloud belts, storms including the Great Red Spot, and some of its four Galilean moons. Uranus follows opposition on November 13, appearing faintly at magnitude 5.6 near Delta Arietis, with its 3.8″ blue-green disk visible through telescopes and its largest moons, Titania and Oberon, detectable with larger instruments. The article also notes the favorable viewing conditions for minor meteor showers in November, including the Northern and Southern Taurids and the Leonids, due to minimal moonlight interference.
