Abstract
A Malaysian royal commission of inquiry has recommended lodging a police report against former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad for his handling of a sovereignty dispute with Singapore over an island. The commission found that Mahathir's decision not to pursue applications related to the dispute caused Malaysia to permanently lose its sovereign rights over the island. Mahathir disputes this claim, stating that the decision was made by the cabinet, not him alone. The report adds to Mahathir's existing troubles since his rival Anwar Ibrahim became prime minister in 2022. [Extracted from the article]
