Abstract
Muhammad Yunus, the leader of Bangladesh, has been cleared of corruption charges filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission. This comes shortly after he assumed power as the interim government leader following the removal of Sheikh Hasina. Yunus had also been acquitted in a labor violation case prior to his appointment. Supporters of Yunus claim that both cases were politically motivated. As the new leader, Yunus faces the challenge of stabilizing the economy, which heavily relies on the garment-export sector and a program from the International Monetary Fund. He has also expressed concern over attacks on minority groups in the country and has called for calm. Minority communities have faced numerous attacks since Hasina's removal, and the situation is considered dangerous by human rights organizations. The police, who have been on strike, have been given an ultimatum to return to work or face termination. [Extracted from the article]
