Abstract

This article focuses on recent psychological research from Wuhan Qingchuan University in the People's Republic of China that explores a weakened version of the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis through Eastern philosophical concepts. The study analyzes Zen Buddhism’s nonverbal practices and Nishida Kitaro’s dialectical philosophy of language to propose a "Middle Way" theoretical framework integrating silence with dialectical expression. This framework addresses cognitive limitations imposed by linguistic structures and offers a novel model for linguistic science and cross-cultural psychology. The research also demonstrates practical applications in cross-cultural education through a qualitative teaching case study. [Extracted from the article]
