Abstract
Kevin Costner and Warner Bros. have decided to cancel the release of "Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 2," the second installment of a $100 million western epic that did not perform well with audiences. The film's producers have chosen not to release the second installment in order to give audiences more time to discover the first installment through online downloads and streaming. The first installment of the film, which stars Costner alongside Sienna Miller and Danny Huston, has only earned $23.4 million in worldwide ticket sales since its release on June 27. This decision comes at a time when struggling theater operators are hoping for successful films to boost box-office sales, as domestic ticket sales are currently 17% lower than they were a year ago.
