Abstract

This chapter reviews key feminist theory contributions from 2024, emphasizing that feminist knowledge arises not only from academia but also from the lived experiences of marginalized communities and activists worldwide. It highlights four main themes: the increasing role of social media in feminist knowledge production amid rising authoritarian and anti-feminist discourses; critical feminist engagements with cisgender norms and transness, including works that challenge cisnormativity as a colonial and racialized construct; analyses of settler colonialism’s ongoing reproduction through intimate labor, exemplified by migrant care work in Palestine/Israel; and feminist practices of grief that explore how writing and personal narratives help process violence and loss, particularly within Black feminist contexts. The chapter underscores feminist theory’s global, intersectional, and community-rooted responses to contemporary socio-political challenges.
