Abstract

President Joe Biden has decided not to run for reelection due to declining poll numbers, disillusioned donors, and a disinterested electorate. Despite his long career in politics and his ability to navigate difficult circumstances, concerns about his age and ability to defeat Donald Trump ultimately led to his decision. Biden's presidency was marked by efforts to address the Covid-19 pandemic, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and expand on policies implemented by Obama. He passed significant legislation, such as the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act, but faced political divisions and challenges in implementing his agenda. Biden's decision to step aside allows Vice President Kamala Harris to take the lead in the upcoming election. [Extracted from the article]
