Abstract

The article explores the optimism found in the works of Pliny and Tacitus in the face of political crises in ancient Rome, particularly following the reign of Emperor Domitian. It argues that despite Rome's periods of turmoil, the resilience and recovery that followed demonstrate the capacity for renewal, offering a model for hope in contemporary political challenges.
