Abstract

The article focuses on the emotional and psychological dimensions of climate change, emphasizing their impact on public engagement and sustainability efforts. Researchers from the University of the Bundeswehr Munich have developed a conceptual framework based on the Kübler-Ross model, which outlines five emotional responses to climate change: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. The study highlights the importance of addressing these emotional stages to enhance communication, resilience-building, and policy design, ultimately fostering more effective climate action. Financial support for the research was provided by the Interreg Alpine Space Programme project ADAPTNOW, co-funded by the European Union. [Extracted from the article]
