Abstract

Sesay Mahommed's book, "Domination through Law: The Internationalization of Legal Norms in Postcolonial Africa," contributes to the ongoing discussions on the role of law in colonial and post-colonial Africa. The book examines the theoretical foundations of African legal systems and uses case studies from Sierra Leone and Liberia to demonstrate how law has been used as a tool for socio-economic and political domination. Mahommed argues that Western legal norms have been transplanted into post-colonial Africa, perpetuating injustice, inequality, and exclusion. The book calls for a decolonial strategy and a return to indigenous legal norms. [Extracted from the article]
