2025 Sydney Taylor Book Award Winners Announced.

Abstract

The article focuses on the 2025 Sydney Taylor Book Award, presented by the Association of Jewish Libraries to honor outstanding children’s and teen literature that authentically portrays the Jewish experience. The Gold Medal winners include *An Etrog from Across the Sea* (Picture Book), *The Girl Who Sang: A Holocaust Memoir of Hope and Survival* (Middle Grade), and *Night Owls* (Young Adult), with additional Silver Medal Honor Books and Notable Books recognized across categories. The award, named after Sydney Taylor, author of the *All-of-a-Kind Family* series, was announced during a virtual event at the American Library Association’s LibLearnX conference. The article also introduces a forthcoming Sydney Taylor portal on the Association’s website and features a personal narrative titled “Sophie’s Story,” recounting a Jewish child’s survival in hiding during the Holocaust in Belgium.
