Abstract

The article reports on the house of William Cooper, a Yorta Yorta man who fought for Aboriginal rights in 20th-century Australia, that has been registered by Heritage Victoria on the Victorian Heritage Register. Historical information is provided about the education of Cooper, his organizing of a political group called the Australian Aborigines' League, and his Petition to the King seeking Aboriginal representation in federal parliament.
