Abstract

This article examines the evolution of Jamie Lee Curtis's star persona through the lenses of feminist film theory and aging in cinema, highlighting her transition from the original "Final Girl" in the 1978 horror film *Halloween* to a feminist icon who openly embraces aging. Curtis's early career centered on roles shaped by the male gaze and youth-focused beauty standards, while her later work, including *Freaky Friday* and *Everything Everywhere All at Once*, foregrounds mature femininity and challenges Hollywood's stigmatization of aging female bodies. By rejecting cosmetic enhancements and portraying aging authentically on screen, Curtis reshapes industry expectations and contributes to a broader discourse on gender, aging, and female stardom. Despite ongoing industry limitations, her career exemplifies a shift toward more inclusive representations of aging women in film.
