Abstract

The article focuses on Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, observed in July to highlight mental health within Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. It explains mental health as encompassing emotional, psychological, and social well-being, emphasizing its interconnectedness with individuals and their environments. Bebe Moore Campbell, a Black writer and advocate, played a key role in addressing the stigma of mental illness in minority communities and promoting conversations about racial discrimination's impact on mental health. The article also notes the role of libraries in supporting mental health awareness through resources, programming, and self-care, encouraging the promotion of mental health year-round.
