Abstract

Michael Johnson, an American athletics legend and Olympic gold medalist, has launched a new track league called Grand Slam Track (GST). The league aims to bring together 96 of the sport's fastest stars in four annual Slams across four global cities during the spring and summer seasons. The goal is to attract a consistent audience for track and field, which typically only garners attention during the Olympics. The league plans to sign 48 core athletes, known as GST Racers, who will receive various benefits and additional compensation. The first Slam is scheduled for April 2025, with Los Angeles serving as the league's global home and host city for one of the events. [Extracted from the article]
