Susan Sontag and Roger Shattuck Looking Back: Pages from the Border Crossings Archive.

Abstract

The author reflects on how two 1988 issues of "Border Brossings" magazine featured writers Roger Shattuck and Susan Sontag. Topics discussed include the 1988 lecture delivered by Shattuck at the Winnipeg Art Gallery (WAG) in Manitoba, the review of the exhibition "1912: The Break-Up of Tradition" that have been presented to celebrate the 75th anniversary of WAG, and the political and social issues addressed by Sontag in her interview with the magazine.
