Abstract
Shaded, winding paths lead through the campus of Therapiedorf Villa Lilly, a German rehab facility where gardening plays a central role in healing. Therapiedorf Villa Lilly was originally developed in the late 1800s by Adolphus Busch (of Anheuser-Busch fame). COLUMNS I've often wondered what it would mean to live in a place where the benefits of contact with plants, the natural world and healthy outdoor environments are widely accepted and appreciated, where gardening and its kindred activities are all considered pluses.
