Abstract

The author reflects on how 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, is remembered for Martin Luther King Jr.'s iconic "I Have a Dream" speech. He mentions that struggle for Black civil rights resulted in not only the termination of racial discrimination but also the improvement and empowerment of the working class. The author reveals that another influential woman associated with the march was African American civil rights activist Pauli Murray.
