Abstract
Three recent books on contemporary British politics and foreign policy are analyzed in this article, highlighting the Conservative governments' rule from 2010 to 2024. The Conservative Effect provides a critical assessment of the policies pursued during this period, revealing mixed results with limited success. Unleashed, a memoir by former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, is criticized for lacking political insight and appearing as a self-serving narrative. The Retreat From Strategy offers military advice to the new Labour government, advocating for increased defense spending and a focus on European defense priorities. [Extracted from the article]
