Abstract
The article centers on the narrative of Flint Kill Creek, a tributary originating in the Adirondack Mountains and flowing into Lake Ontario, and its significance in the lives of two university students, Romulus and Inga. It explores their complex relationship marked by emotional tension, Inga’s albinism and vulnerability, and the environmental degradation of the creek and surrounding region. The story culminates in a dramatic incident where Inga falls into the swollen, polluted creek during a storm, prompting a desperate rescue attempt by Romulus. The text also reflects on themes of isolation, youthful idealism, and the struggle for connection amid personal and ecological turmoil.
