Abstract
This article discusses a special issue of Saturday Review/World magazine published in 1974 that aimed to predict what the world would look like in 2024. The contributors included notable figures such as Neil Armstrong, Andrei Sakharov, and Wernher von Braun. While some predictions were accurate, such as the development of a global telephone and videophone system, others, like Armstrong's vision of lunar cities and human colonization of other planets, were far off. The article highlights the limitations of predicting the future and reflects on the current state of the world compared to the optimistic predictions made in the past. [Extracted from the article]
