Abstract

The article provides information on the impact of mountaineering and tourism on local communities in Nepal, particularly in the Everest region. The ascent of Mount Everest by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay in 1953 opened the doors for thousands of foreign climbers, transforming small agrarian villages into tourist hubs with hotels and businesses.
