Abstract

Skydance Media, led by producer David Ellison, is set to acquire Paramount Global after Edgar Bronfman Jr. dropped out of the acquisition contest. The deal is expected to be completed in the first half of 2025. Paramount, burdened by debt and struggling in the streaming era, hopes that Skydance will provide a fresh start. Bronfman's group withdrew from the bidding war due to a tight deadline for financial document submission. Both Skydance and Bronfman's proposals included acquiring National Amusements Inc., but differed in terms of overall amount and valuation. [Extracted from the article]
