Making History Now: Change the Game, Change the World.

Abstract

This article highlights eight individuals who are making history in various fields. Missy Elliott, a rapper, was the first female rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Tyler James Williams, an actor, successfully transitioned from a child TV star to an adult Emmy nominee and is an advocate for education and LGBTQ+ causes. SZA, a singer, has become a prominent Black female vocalist and leads this year's Grammy class with nine nominations. Zaya Wade, the daughter of Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union, has made valuable contributions to trans visibility. Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an actress, has received critical acclaim for her roles and aims to correct the erasure of Black history. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, an Olympic gold medalist, holds the world record for the 400m hurdle and has released a memoir. Kelvin Harrison Jr., an actor, has portrayed multiple legends in biopics and aspires to be fearless in sharing his identity.
