Abstract

This article discusses the involvement of Irishmen in the Waffen-SS during World War II. It highlights the harsh conditions experienced by prisoners of war in Germany and the propaganda efforts to recruit Irish POWs. Two Irish soldiers, James Brady and Frank Stringer, volunteered to serve in the Waffen-SS and were involved in various operations.
