Abstract
The article "Inequalities and social sciences in neoliberal Indonesia" examines how social inequalities are reproduced within Indonesian universities amid neoliberal reforms. It highlights exclusionary effects stemming from internationalization, selective inclusion, corporatist bureaucracies, and regional disparities in infrastructure and capacity. The study critiques the marketization of higher education for limiting academic creativity and extending authoritarian developmentalism to fit neoliberal demands. It concludes by proposing ways for Global South academics to better understand their social positions within a world shaped by complex inequalities.
