Abstract
(Bloomberg) -- US Treasuries are off to the strongest start to a year since 2001, when markets correctly anticipated that then-Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan would slash the central bank benchmark. Lower oil prices supported improved sentiment in the Treasury market, which suffered a record annual loss in 2022 as soaring inflation drew an aggressive response from the Fed.
