Abstract

The article presents an excerpt from a sermon delivered by Bishop Johann Wiebe on the migration of Mennonites from the Fuerstenland settlement in imperial Russia to Manitoba in 1875. Topics include the reason for the migration, the guidance provided by the Lord regarding the move, the different reactions of the congregation to the planned migration and the outcome of a gathering at the immigrant houses.
