Abstract
Peter Higgs, a British physicist who won the Nobel Prize in 2013, has passed away at the age of 94. Higgs was known for his discovery of a theoretical mechanism that explains the origin of mass in the universe. He shared the Nobel Prize with Belgian physicist Francois Englert for proposing the existence of the Higgs boson particle and the invisible field in space that gives mass to matter. The discovery of the Higgs boson particle was made in 2012 by the European nuclear research body CERN. Higgs's work has contributed to our understanding of the universe and may offer insights into dark matter and dark energy. [Extracted from the article]
