Abstract

The author reflects on the entanglement of mobility and national identity as part of Canadian literature. She cites the book "American Road Narratives," wherein author Ann Brigham poses the question around whether cross-country or continental travellers seek to embrace the vastness of space or attempt to reduce it into something more manageable. She notes that Canadian narratives of mobility are texts that grapple with socio-cultural and political issues through travel and mobility.
