Abstract
The Asuka period in Japan, from 592 to 710, marked the beginning of the country's Classical Age and saw significant cultural developments. The period was characterized by political shifts, with powerful clans like the Soga clan playing key roles in governance. Empress Suiko and Prince Shōtoku implemented reforms that shaped Japanese government and society, including the introduction of the Twelve Level Cap and Rank System. The period also witnessed the blending of Shinto and Buddhism, leading to syncretism between the two belief systems. [Extracted from the article]
