Abstract
This article focuses on the career and legacy of Catherine O'Hara, a Canadian comedy actress who died at age 71. Known for her portrayals of vain, delusional, and larger-than-life characters, O'Hara brought warmth and complexity to roles in projects such as the Canadian sketch show SCTV, the films Beetlejuice and Home Alone, and the acclaimed sitcom Schitt's Creek, where she played the matriarch Moira Rose. Her work spanned over five decades and included collaborations with notable comedians like Eugene Levy and Christopher Guest. O'Hara received critical recognition late in her career, including an Emmy for Schitt's Creek, and was noted for her generosity and humility off-screen despite her flamboyant characters.
