Abstract
The article focuses on examining John Bale's "Kynge Johan" and John Heywood's "Play of the Wether" as expressions of Henrician political ideas. Topics include how these plays depict petitioning as a legitimate political practice, portray the role of "necessity" in reshaping political and ethical duties, and explore the potential for collective political models over absolutist ones.
