The article focuses on NASA's astronaut selection process and the experiences of candidates training for space missions. Since 1959, NASA has selected approximately 370 astronauts. Candidate Rebecca Lawler expresses that training is challenging but believes it will prepare her for future missions to Mars. Both candidates Adam Fuhrmann and Lawler share backgrounds in science and military service.
