Abstract

The article offers information on the similarities and differences between Boethius and Thomas More, both Christian statesmen imprisoned for their righteousness. Topics include the contrasting approaches in their works of comfort and consolation, with Boethius seeking consolation from philosophy and More grounding all comfort explicitly in faith.
